Dr. Gavin Taylor is a dynamic and prolific teacher of the word of God, who has an uncanny way of interpreting the scriptures and communicating it in a way that makes it easy for anyone to comprehend its meaning and relevance.  His messages are filled with divine and practical wisdom, making it easy to apply to daily living and overcoming life's challenges.  He firmly believes that the word of God is the final authority pertaining to life and eternity and instructs his congregation to be students of the bible.

 

Dr. Taylor is the founder and presiding Pastor of The Love of Jesus Family Church of North Newark in New Jersey and is one of the many pastors under the oversight of Pastor Jason Alvarez, Senior Pastor of The Love of Jesus Family Church in Orange, New Jersey.  The Love of Jesus Family Church has been a cornerstone in Orange, New Jersey and the surrounding communities for nearly three decades, serving nearly 2,000 members every Sunday and hundreds of thousands more around the world through more than a dozen global outreaches.

 

Under the leadership of Pastors Jason and Gale Alvarez, he began his ministry serving at The Love of Jesus Family Church in Orange, New Jersey.  For over 15 years he worked extensively with various ministries, including: The Youth Prison Ministry, Music Ministry (as a singer and keyboard player), as a teacher with the New Members Fellowship Class, and he spent nearly 10 years as Pastor Jason Alvarez’s personal assistant and Armor Bearer.  After many years of faithful service, he was ordained into the ministry and given a mandate to win the town of North Newark and the surrounding area for Jesus Christ.

 

Dr. Taylor's life mission is to train up leaders and disciples to reach the world with the Love of Jesus.  He believes that a leader should lead through service and that real ministry takes place outside of the church building.  He, therefore, trains his congregation to be a minister (or servant) in their homes, their workplace, the community they live in, the nation and the world.

 

In addition to his many years of service at the Love of Jesus, Dr. Taylor has also dedicated his life to serving the community.  After working in the Financial Services industry for over 15 years he left the industry to pursue working with non-profits and philanthropic entities.  He began using his financial knowledge to assist middle to low income families manage their finances and overcome financial difficulties.  His goal has been to help families fulfill their dream of becoming debt free and financially independent. This neatly fits into his overall mission as a Pastor; which is to provide healing to the total man: Spirit, Soul, and Body.  He believes that you must first deal with the natural state of the man before you can reach his Soul and Spirit.  If a person can’t make a living and achieve their financial goals, it will be difficult to reach them emotionally and spiritually. To further this effort, he co-founded GJT Community Development Corporation, a non-profit organization aimed at reducing poverty through food security, financial education, mentoring, and training.
