PASTOR Tanya Taylor, MA, LPC
Licensed Therapist/Kingdom Life Strategist

Under the mentorship of Bishop Barbara Glanton, Pastor Tanya Taylor began her ministry serving at The Love of Jesus Family Church in Newark, New Jersey.  After serving Bishop Glanton for several years, she met and eventually married Pastor Gavin Taylor in September of 2003.  After their marriage, she became a member of the Love of Jesus Family Church in Orange, New Jersey, where she embraced Pastors Jason and Gale Alvarez as her pastors.  Shortly thereafter she assisted Pastor Gale Alvarez with several ministries: Women of Purpose (W.O.P.) and youth girl’s ministries Tween’s of Purpose and Teen’s Of Purpose (Project T.O.P.).  Tween’s and Teen’s of Purpose was a mentorship program for young ladies.  In this ministry, Pastor Tanya first realized her passion for mentoring young women.

For more than a decade, Pastor Tanya Taylor has mentored young women, teaching them the importance of valuing themselves.  To further this effort she co-founded The Love of Jesus Community Center of North Newark, a program aimed at reducing poverty through financial education, mentoring, and training. Through this foundation, she launched the “Diamonds in and out of the Rough” mentorship program for women. This program was designed to provide: Mentorship, Etiquette training, and Life Skills for young ladies. The goal of this program is to help each lady locate the hidden treasure that is on the inside of each of them. Having a heart for the youth, she also launched the “Christ Champions Youth Outreach” program.  This program provides the youth with an opportunity to engage in open topic discussions, learn biblical principles, the importance of bridging family gaps, academic achievement, mental health and behavioral wellness, self-care, current events, community outreach, and youth entrepreneurship. Realizing that her passion is mentoring the youth and young ladies, Pastor Tanya obtained her license in counseling, so she could be of more assistance to our community.
